This committee makes a difference in the lives of women, children and families by providing support for our individual, group and family counseling programs along with increasing awareness of our Free Counseling Talkline
Volunteer Talkline Counselor
Work as a counselor for Women Helping Women's Talkline. The training covers a full range of counseling topics, including crisis and suicide assessment, domestic violence, child abuse, depression, mental health, immigration issues, parenting, poverty and homelessness. Bilingual volunteers fluent in Russian, Farsi and Spanish are particularly needed.
Commitment: 3-4 hour shift per week for one year. Thirty hours of training provided.
WHW Outreach Tasks
Volunteer to help with occasional tasks that keep our programs running whether it is stuffing envelopes for a mailing, preparing scholarship applications for review, researching community resources for talkline or distributing flyers and WHW program information in the community.
